His latest novel, Shockadelica, weaves supernatural legends from Ireland, Nigeria, and China to tell a story of prejudice, conspiracy theories, and things that aren't what they appear to be. The story features a companion album, Box of Bones, by one of the characters known as the Bone Man.

O'Bergh has also written two innovative e-books that combine music and stories: Song of Fire, a reflection on the role of music in our lives, and A Book of Hauntings, a collection of ghost stories. His short stories have appeared in anthologies and magazines. With Andre Akinyele he co-wrote Elliptical: The Music of Meshell Ndegeocello, the first comprehensive look at the work of this iconic musician.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California at Irvine, where he studied piano performance and composition while performing with a rock band.
